We Energy – due diligence report in accordance with the Transparency Act. Reporting period: 2024 – 2025
This report has been prepared in accordance with Section 5 of the Transparency Act and describes We Energy AS's due diligence assessments, work processes and measures related to fundamental human rights and decent working conditions.
About the business
We Energy AS was founded on January 24, 2023 and operates within:
• Electrical
• Automation
• Instrumentation
• Fiber optics and telecommunications
• Fire and gas systems
The company provides services to the oil and gas industry, rig companies, shipbuilding industry and other players offshore and onshore. Office and workshop are located in Forus in Stavanger.
Organization
The company consists of departments for engineering services, installation, workshop, and administration. Under administration, there are HR, various support functions, as well as finance and IT. The administration reports to the General Manager, who in turn reports to the Board of Directors. The Board consists of the Chairperson and two board members.
Products, services and market
We Energy delivers specialized services within a wide range of disciplines as mentioned above, and the business is organized through projects of varying size, complexity and duration. Clients are companies domiciled in Norway, mainly within the oil and gas industry, including service and rigging companies as well as the shipbuilding industry. The company's products and services are in demand for use both onshore and offshore, in buildings and fixed installations and on board vessels and rigs.
Guidelines and anchoring of human rights work
We Energy has integrated due diligence into the company's management and quality system, and this includes:
• Ethical guidelines with a clear anchoring of human rights
• Policy for respect for human rights
• Procedure for onboarding employees and contractors
• Notification routines
Suppliers must sign that they meet requirements within HSE, human rights and working conditions.
Due diligence assessments (OECD model)
In line with the requirements of the Norwegian Consumer Authority, the report must contain a description of:
• Organization and operations
• Guidelines and routines
• Identified measures and findings
We Energy has established due diligence assessments as part of its management systems and began work in the first year of operation, even though the reporting obligation had not yet occurred at that time.
Risk in the supply chain
Risk is assessed in particular in relation to:
• Hiring of labor
• Suppliers of electronics and technical equipment
• Subcontractors within installation and workshop services
The company only uses approved suppliers, and HSE/human rights is one of the approval criteria.
Measures implemented during the period
In accordance with the Norwegian Consumer Authority's requirements for measures in the report, the following has been implemented:
• Establishment of systematic supplier control
• Formalization of requirements documentation for all suppliers
• Implementation of a notification system for employees and contractors
• Training in quality systems, ethical guidelines and routines for new employees
This work is continuously strengthened as the business grows.
Actual findings and handling
For the reporting period 2024-2025, no actual negative consequences have been identified, but We Energy has:
• Identified some potential risk areas (especially suppliers of technical equipment and subcontractors of personnel)
• Implemented improvement measures for better traceability and documentation
Future measures and areas for improvement
In accordance with the Norwegian Consumer Authority's requirements for measures in the report, the following has been implemented:
• Establishment of systematic supplier control
• Formalization of requirements documentation for all suppliers
• Implementation of a notification system for employees and contractors
• Training in quality systems, ethical guidelines and routines for new employees
This work is continuously strengthened as the business grows.
